National Absurdity Day recalls some of the entirely off the wall things in our lives. So this November 20th my mind immediately jumps to my collection of absurd “accessible” public bathroom photos. So sit back and enjoy these crazy pictures I have accumulated in my travels over the years.
And when you see me in some of these photos, consider what the other bathroom user was thinking when I asked them to take these zany pics of me with a bathroom backdrop instead of the typical seascapes, mountains and other iconic vistas.

The silver lining is that not all these absurdities appeared in the same bathroom!

Angela, I’m both laughing and weeping at these photos and the constant challenges you and other disabled people have to contend with on a regular basis. (Who decided to install the paper towel dispenser in the Professional Basketball Player Area?) Disability is not for wimps!
Hard to explain how the minds of some people work. Clearly they don’t read or they’d know what accessible laws require. Although access laws still need more work to fully accommodate Little People.

Gee I understand. When we lived overseas and traveled extensively, I threatened to write a book entitled “Toilets of the World”. LOL So many challenges even for regular height people. I can’t imagine what all you have had to deal with.
Sounds like a great book idea Sandy. A good topic for an anthology compiling the experiences of many.

Have problems when sink is high as my chest and water soaks my shirt, or reaching in to wash hands, water runs down my arm and wets my sleeves.
Interesting that someone as tall as you has access problems.
